United Medical Centres, Kirkwood is a mixed billing Practice. All patients under 15, Pension Card and Health care Card holders are Bulk Billed for Standard consultations.
Non concession patients incur standard Practice fees as listed in the table below. Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque, or EFTPOS. After the payment, a Medicare rebate can be claimed. Whilst some companies may have prior arrangements for the care of their employees., this must be fully organised before the appointment commences. There is a private fee for Skin procedures, excisions and toenail removals, $25 for non-attendance and $25 cancellation of appointments within 4 hours of appointment time. Please be aware that all private fees may not have a Medicare benefit. For more details on fees and services, please contact reception.

Some of our nurse consultations and Treatment room use may also attract a fee between $15.00 and $30.00. There is no Medicare rebate for these.

Billing Procedure
As per the Medicare legislation the full consultation fee has to be paid before the rebate can come back to you. Our Eftpos terminals make this process as simple as possible. By swiping your card once the full fee will be charged. By swiping your card again the Medicare rebate will be refunded to you. Please be aware the Medicare refund cannot be paid into a credit card account so you will need a savings or cheque account to receive the rebate immediately.
